Café Cantante 2007
The Flamenco Poets Society presents Randy Cordero, flamenco guitarist for our series of poetry and music.
Mr. Cordero was our guest artist for the winter program held in February 17, 2007 at the Houston Public Library.
Randy Cordero - Flamenco Guitarist
Originally from Corpus Christi began his training at an early age and studied with such prestigious guitarists including
Rene Heredia, Paco Garrigues "El Chatarrero", Chuscales, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Pedro Cuadra and Domingo Rubichi.
Mr. Cordero performs throughout Texas, Colorado and Mexico, and has collaborated with artists such as classical guitarist, Maria Cortes; flamenco guitarist, Jose Perello and flamenco dancers, Sylviana Keptra, Olaya Solis and Paco & Laura Garrigues.
Randy has been in Houston since May 2005 and attends the University of Houston. He is presently a freelance flamenco guitarist and regularly performs at several venues in the Houston area & teaches flamenco classes. In September 2007 he plans to return to Spain and continue his studies in Jerez and Seville. He is currently raising funds for a new guitar and make a CD recording of his music.
